Everyday Makeup Routine

Makeup lover? Me? More like makeup obsessed. My love affair with makeup started in my late teens when my face had exploded in to full blown acne. I was desperate to conceal my horror story and turned to makeup for confidence. The obsession with makeup remains now that I am older, despite no longer needing it as camouflage.  In today's post I share my every day makeup, some oldies but goodies and some new products I am currently loving (spoiler: there is a video at the end where I show the products in action).

FACE

I discovered this product through the beautiful Nicole Shaye. She had the most flawless skin during our girls trip to LA a couple of years ago and her secret was this Smashbox primer. I haven't looked back since! Absolutely love it.

This is another oldie but a goodie. This corrector concealer pallette is an all in one, with a peachy corrector to hide my sleepless nights to the yellow toned concealer which brightens my eyes and areas around my nose. Perfection!
I have been using this concealer since my early twenties. It is AMAZING at concealing blemishes and contains blemish fighting properties. Absolutely holy grail status.

I venture out trying new foundations but always come back to this one. There is something about it having properties which are good for your skin and the fact that it literally just becomes one with your skin that keeps me coming back for more. Time and time again, this foundation has never failed. It has medium coverage and leaves your skin glowing and healthy. The only downside is that you have to buff it in which can take a little longer. However, I think it's definitely worth the effort and is a definite must try.

This is an extremely finely milled powder with a very subtle glow. Perfect for setting any concealer under the eyes and extremely perfect when using pot correctors or concelears which can tend to be a little thicker.
NARS blushes are legendary and Gina is no exception. She has a soft peachy undertone, perfect for the spring.

Another tried and true. I love this so much, I've already repurchased and am on the verge of repurchasing for a third time FOR THE BRONZER ALONE! I know, crazy, but it is that good! She needs to just come out with it in a single.

This stuff is magic. It isn't obnoxiously glowy or glittery, it is in my humble opinion, the epitome of a sophisticated glow. Because it is a mosaic, you can choose your own customized glow. Absolutely beautiful!

EYES
The purpose of the paint pot is to hide all of the discoloration on the eyelids. Does it work? Heck yes! When you've had little sleep or horrible allergies, this stuff comes to the rescue. I've lost track of how many times I've repurchased this product.

This is not an eyeliner for those new to makeup. It definitely took me getting use to it. I usually only use felt tip/marker type of liners but decided to give it a go. I was about to give up on it as the brush applicator scared the bejeezes out of me but upon talking with Taralyn (my bestie), discovered she had already repurchased this product three times! I'm still not a fan of the applicator, however, the actual product and staying power are very pigmented and long lasting.

This product does give you extreme volume. The only con is that it can clump up REAL quick, so wiggle from the bottom and swipe up quickly. Honeslty, for the price I can't complain.

HOLY GRAIL status. I can travel with just this pallette alone (for my eyes). You can customize day looks, night looks and even fill in your brows, which is what I have been doing lately. Absolutely love this pallette and is worth every penny.

LIPS

I am OBSESSED with this stuff.  I honestly think it has helped my upper lip fill out some. The product does state that it has long term effects and I feel it has delivered. Now I will say that I wore this stuff every day for a solid two weeks with a couple applications a day. I just loved how it made my lips look (you can see for yourself in the video below.) With all that said, DO NOT kiss your baby if you are wearing this!!! The plumping agents are too intense for their baby skin and will irritate it...but it will leave you with juicy lips.

Let me know if you have tried any of these products below or if you have any recommendations. I am always up for trying out new makeup. Until next week, stay fabulous!

  1. The mascara is really great although I do agree with you about the clumping part. But it's inexpensive so no complaints there, eh x
