5 Reasons Why The Law Of Attraction Isn't Working

Why The Law Of Attraction Isn't Working, AND How To Fix It! www.MalenaHaas.com

       I have been wanting to write this post for some time now but have been hesitant because the content in it is a bit different than the usual productivity post. How so? Well, I'm sharing five obstacles I've personally encountered and overcome when implementing the Law Of Attraction in to my life. 


     In short, the Law Of Attraction is based on the premise of "Ask, Believe, and Receive." The theory is that if you ask, believe, and allow yourself to receive, you will manifest whatever your heart desires. 

     I asked, believed and thought I let myself receive but only ended up receiving some of the things I asked for. This led me to question what had gone wrong and how I could possibly fix it. Here are the most common obstacles when trying to manifest your desires, and more importantly, how to fix them: 

1. NOT BEING IN THE RIGHT VIBRATION


     In the famous words of Nichola Tesla, "If you want to know the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration." In order to to attract what you desire, you must be on the same frequency. You do this by vibrating your energy at the same level or "frequency" of what is you are trying to attract. 

       Step 1: 

      How in the world do you do that?!? You simply ask your self, how would having that which I desire make me feel? Abundant, at peace, joyful, sexy, potent, etc. 

       Step 2:

       Once you've discovered how it is you are trying to feel, you have to make yourself feel this way EVERY DAY. Schedule things during your day that will have you vibrating at the frequency of whatever it is you are trying to attract. By maintaining this particular vibration, you are much more likely to attract whatever it is you are seeking to manifest.  
      

2. NOT LETTING GO

    One of the major issues I had was not letting go. Once you've asked it is time to let go. Have faith that whatever it is you've asked for is on its way to you.  

     An easy way to determine if you have "let go"(I keep thinking of the movie Frozen as I type this) is to ask yourself, "am I excited or am I obsessing or trying to control the situation?"

     If you find yourself trying to control the situation, then you have clearly missed the boat on letting go. Good news is you still have time to release whatever it is you've asked for. 

       Step 1:  
Acknowledge that you are not letting go. (eg. I see that I am trying to control the situation; I see that I am stressing out about the situation, etc.)
     Step 2: 
Identify why you are not letting go and let yourself feel it. (eg. It is okay to stress out about the situation because I feel anxious, feeling anxious is normal; It is okay to try and control the situation because I feel scared, feeling scared is normal etc.)
      Step 3: 
Remind yourself that you are still perfect, even when you feel scared, anxious, insufficient, etc. and be at peace with it.
         Step 4:
Trust that you can manifest things even when you feel a certain way, because you are perfect. Give yourself examples of times good things have happened to you even though you've worried or tried to control the situation. I bet you can come up with at least one. Do you know why? Well, because you are perfect!

3. HAVING SELF LIMITING BELIEFS


    This was a major obstacle for me and still rears its ugly head every once in a while. I believe that this is one of the main reasons people do not achieve their goals. The reason being that self-limiting beliefs are usually deep rooted in the subconscious. That's right, we don't even know we have them!

     Here are some of the most common self-limiting beliefs:

i.    I'm not lovable; 
ii.   I'm not good enough;
iii. There isn't enough; 
iv.  I'm a failure; 
v.   I don't deserve this. 

     There are several tools to discover if you have a self-limiting belief but I've found that the easiest way is to check in with your feelings. 

     Step 1: 
Ask yourself, what is your goal? (eg. I want to make $20,000/month)

     Step 2: 
Say you've accomplished your goal out loud, in the present tense. (eg. I make $20,000) If you find any resistance while saying this out loud, then you have a self-limiting belief. 

      Step 3: 
Ask your self "why?" and answer with "because..." (e.g. Why can't I make $20,000/month?" "I can't make $20,000 because")  VIOLA! You've just discovered your self limiting belief!
      Step 4:
Get rid of your self limiting belief. This can take as little as ten minutes or as much as ten years! It all depends on how deeply ingrained the belief is. The fastest way to get rid of a self limiting-belief is by writing out 5-10 instances disproving the belief. If you don't have 5-10 instances, then make theme happen, and in time you will prove yourself wrong! 

4. NOT BEING PRESENT


    This goes hand-in-hand with not letting go. When you are too busy thinking of the past or the future, you are not living in the moment. All we have is now. You cannot manifest from the past or manifest from the future, you can only manifest from the now.

    When you are in the present you are fully conscious of your feelings (a.k.a. your energy, frequency and vibrations). When you are fully conscious, you are aware. When you become aware, you can easily catch yourself drifting into self-limiting beliefs. When you can identify yourself drifting, you can easily bring your self back to peace or whatever vibration you are trying to feel. 
     

5. NOT TRULY FEELING GRATEFUL

      The last obstacle that could be sabotaging your manifestations is not truly feeling gratitude. Your gratitude list could be three pages long, but if you don't truly feel grateful for those things then you might as well have written nothing. 

    This again ties back in to feeling (vibrations, energy, and frequency). A great way to get yourself to truly feel grateful is to write out why you feel grateful for each and every thing you have listed. This reminds you of your why and when you take the time to think of your why you are more likely than not to feel a deeper  sense of gratitude.

        This post was out of my wheelhouse but I really felt the need to share obstacles I've encountered and overcome when applying the Law of Attraction to my life. It can be so frustrating when you feel as if you've tried everything but have been met with nothing to show for your efforts. It is my sincere hope that today's post has helped shine some light on any issues you might be having and even more so, a way to resolve them.
